Manufactures today must answer to thier stock holders, navigate the govenmental oversite, anticipate the rising cost of resources, set advertising budgets, control quality, invest in research and set the profit margins. This creates a big variation in prices among brands. One of the top brands invest 3 times more inadvertising the any of the other braands on the market. This obviously effect the price. Others do not handle thier own distribution which adds another layer of cost. Some focus on higher quality which also adds cost.
